MenopauseBy definition, menopause occurs when there has been 12 months of no bleeding after the final menstrual period. The symptoms of menopause vary, including: hot flashes, mood swings, insomnia, and vaginal dryness. Many of these symptoms can significantly impact quality of life. Treatment includes hormone therapy in various forms (e.g. vaginal creams, vaginal rings, oral medication, etc), non-hormonal medications, and alternative therapies.
