Abnormal Pap

A Pap test, or Pap smear, is a routine part of the annual health exam and is a screening test for cervical cancer. Many abnormal Pap smears are caused by infection with the human papillomavirus (HPV), so testing for this infection is often done in conjunction with the Pap test. Evaluation and treatment of an abnormal Pap may include: colposcopy, cervical biopsy or a LEEP procedure. Your provider can perform these procedures in the office.
